The Coalition has seven major projects currently underway. Each project is listed below with a brief explanation of the project's focus. Click on a project  to obtain more detailed explanation of each program.  

Drug-Free Communities Support Project

To achieve the two goals of reducing substance abuse among youth and strengthening community anti-drug coalitions, the coalition implements the following strategies: 1) develop youth leadership teams to serve as peer mentors to one hundred at- risk youth;2) use the youth leadership teams to develop recommendations for the purpose of improving school and community environments to minimize opportunities for substance use: 3) conduct substance abuse awareness training for up to 80 high- risk youth; 4) enhance the understanding of the impact of substance use on communities, youth, families, and others: 5) conduct a Youth Health Orientation Occupations Camp during the summer with 80 at- risk youth and 20 youth counselors with drug prevention training;6) establish additional collaborations and partnerships in the region  through a drug prevention regional quiz bowl on substance availability and enforcement procedures; and,7) work with law-enforcement, public housing authorities, governmental agencies, health agencies, faith- based organizations, and businesses to enhance public awareness on the impact of substance use.
